11 Weeks!

We are 11 weeks today!!! Only 1 more week until we are out of this first trimester and I can breathe a tad easier. Praying!

How I'm feeling this week:
Jelly Bean is as big as a: Large Plum about 2.5 inches. I was also told the size of a lime this morning so not sure which it is lime or plum but you get the idea.

Nausea:
The Nausea has not been terribly bad this week. Luckily out of the 5 days I only got nauseous at work 1 day (Wednesday) and luckily I was at my office for training all day so I could run to the bathroom without problem. Most of the nausea, when it happens, happens in the afternoon/late evening, which I love.

Fatigue:
Well obviously I made it through my first week of work with kids. It still wasn't full 100% force, since I focused on just the kids that really needed me for schedules and school orientation. Next week is a different story. All week this week I have been either starting my bedtime routine or in bed by 9pm and asleep no later than 9:45pm if not sooner. This weekend will be focused on sleeping! :) Thank goodness we have off Monday...3 day weekends rock!!

Bathroom Runs:
The same but I've falling into a routine now. I get up twice a night, once around midnight or 1pm and again around 3pm or 4pm. My day routine hasn't been as predictable.

Allergies:
Gone, just normal stuff now. No meds! :)

Cravings:
Still sweets primarily!! Fallen in love with Root Beer Floats and Cookies-n-Cream ice cream. I have noticed large meals don't always agree with me. Incorporating meat more excluding Chicken because that still sounds disgusting to me.

Thirsty:
Still the same. I got me some lunchbox OJ cartons to make sure I get that daily as well as my V8 juice packs.

Weight:
This week I have noticed I've gained 1-3 pounds just depending on the day. I have come to the conclusion that my weight must be re-positioning itself because I look like I've gained much more than I really have. None of my pants that have zippers and/or buttons, zip/button anymore. My scrub work pants still fit but are snug. I have to shimmy in and out of them. People that saw me weekly or several times a week last year immediately picked up on my weight shift this week.

Headaches:
Nothing terrible this week.

Brushing Teeth = ?
This week for the first time I have discovered that brushing my teeth is a never ending process. Every time I brush my teeth I end up gagging or getting sick....I assume from the taste of the toothpaste...maybe? So I brush my teeth, I gag, I get sick, brush my teeth again, gag, get sick, brush my teeth again, ect. Smells also get to me. I got a new deodorant just because I grabbed the first one I saw; not thinking, but it wasn't what I've been using for awhile, same brand just different type. (forgive that run-on sentence that probably has all types of grammatical errors, but I'm to tired to care)Well I wore it one day and couldn't even get through the whole day. It was like baby powder smell, but geez it got to me.

This week (Wednesday) Jelly Bean and I also had a close call on our drive home. We were only about 10-15 minutes from home, when a young man decided that he wanted into my lane and must have thought I was saying hi when I blared my horn at him because he never stopped. I saw that he was texting away on his cell so obviously wasn't paying attention and never even acknowledged his absent mindedness with a wave or anything. To this day I know that the Lord was with Jelly Bean and I because I have no idea how that car did not hit us. It came less than an inch away, I was preparing for impact, preparing for his car to scrape my entire left front side of the car and push me into the curb, but that never happened. It was as if my car just stayed still, frozen in time as his continued forward. Like I was watching it on TV instead of in the car myself. Thank the Lord!!! I was so mad and upset but kept reminding myself I needed to calm down for Jelly Bean's sake. I ended up just crying because I was just that frustrated.

Overall this week was great and we are just getting closer and closer to the ultimate goal of March 22.

Jelly Bean goes to School/Work

This week started the "official" school year. We are only 2 days in and I'm completely wore out. Feels like it should be Thursday. I have loved seeing my kids though, they make me laugh all the time. Jelly Bean has been doing great too. I haven't been nauseous at work these past 2 days but this changes once I get home. I'd much rather me nauseous or get sick at home than at work. My energy level is still not 100%. Monday wasn't as bad, I made it the entire day without problem but Today I was wiped by 11am after seeing 3 kids and doing a 15 minute schedule lesson which consisted of going up and down stairs about 10 times. I couldn't do anything else for the rest of the day and just wanted to sleep. Yesterday I passed out around 8:30 and tonight 9pm is calling my name. I would go sooner but I am currently eating a bowl of Cookies-n-Cream ice cream which is more important right now. ;)

It is nice to be on a schedule again though and to see my wonderful coworkers. We have fun together and have many interesting conversations. :) Hopefully the rest of the week is a tad easier with training all day tomorrow and a meeting all morning on Friday. We shall see. Looking forward to the 3 day weekend though!

10 Weeks!

We have made it through 10 weeks!!! 2 more weeks to go to be out of the first Trimester! Praying!

This week was also my first week back to work.

How I'm feeling this week:

This week Stats:
Jelly Bean is as big as a: Prune about 1.5 inches long!!

Nausea:
It's getting better but still there. Sunday was the worst day thus far for nausea. I got sick numerous times and just felt crummy. I did get some Zofran from my doctor this past weekend so I was ready for Mondays drive. I needed it Mon and Tues throughout the day. It did not seem like it was the drive, not sure if my body was that upset about being back at work. Since Wednesday it has gotten better. When it does hit, it hits more at night or late afternoon.

Exhausted:
Well this has increased tremendously with my new work load and mostly all I did this week was sit in trainings so I fear next week. I think all week this week I was asleep anywhere from 9-10pm and would sleep all the way up to 6:15am when the alarm sounded. On Thursday (yesterday) was my only day I did work with students and I came home yesterday and passed out around 5:45, woke up at 8:30 and back to sleep by 9:45 and slept until 8am this morning.  I am making it through my day well but did learn on Thursday that my energy level is just not the same. I could walk for hours with students with no problems and now just the hour on my feet, walking wore me out. I hope this is just because I haven't been as active this summer and that this will increase with time but I can't help but think part of it is due to my new pregnancy state. Keep posted next week because next week will be a 5 day week and full of activity, I may be asleep by 5:45 every day. :)

Bathroom Runs:
The Same

Allergies:
Getting better. Still blowing the nose daily but no more allergy medicine!

Cravings:
Still sweets, cheese and pasta. I am also on a grape kick. Love them! Meat has been worked back in my diet but in moderation. Still not wanting chicken but going to try to trick my body and incorporate it in some casseroles and enchiladas this upcoming week. I've also noticed I'm eating more and more this week. Could be that I'm at work but I feel like I'm always snacking right now.

Thirsty:
Water, Water, Water! I'm having more difficulty getting my milk and OJ intake in because of work. Everything is on the run until Dinner and I don't typically want either of those at dinner. I bought myself some V8 Splash juice boxes that I can take to work with me next week, so hopefully that helps get those fruits and veggies.

Weight:
Still have not gained much, maybe 1-2 pounds so far. However, the tummy is growing. I was down to 2 pairs of jeans that I was not having to get the Belly Band or hair band for and I put one of those pairs on this week and couldn't button them. I haven't tried the other pair. A few of my scrub work pants and lounge sleep pants are getting tight to pull on and off.

Headaches:
These have started to happen more frequently.

It has been nice to go back to work because everyone is so excited for us and so positive. They know the journey we've been on for the past several years and so they share in our excitement. I have learned that in my school alone there are 6 of us pregnant! Crazy! I also find it funny how fast news spreads within a school. I am enjoying being back at work but my body is not adjusting well when it comes to exhaustion. Of course I have been told this will get better after the first trimester. So I just need to get through these next few weeks.

9 Weeks!

Well today we hit 9 weeks!!! Only 3 more weeks to go to be out of this first trimester! Praying!!

Today was our second sonogram and Dave got to come this time!! It was perfect!! Still just 1 baby...woohoo! I was shocked at how much bigger Jelly Bean is now and that he/she doesn't look like a blob anymore!!! We could actually see the little leg and arm buds, body and head. Totally crazy what technology can show us. The doctor said Jelly Bean was really moving this morning, which I think was due to the Sprite I had on the way to the doctor office to ward off the nausea. The baby is measuring almost an inch in length, which doc says is great. As soon as he found the heartbeat I immediately noticed a difference....much faster. At 7 weeks the heartbeat was 141 but now it's 192 which of course I immediately was like "Is that normal??" To which my doctor just laughed and said yes. completely normal and warned me that at 12 weeks we may notice it drop again and that's 100% normal. We got to see the umbilical cord and he showed us the pumping within the umbilical cord. Totally cool!!! So Jelly Bean is still growing perfectly!! God is Great!

Today's appointment was bittersweet in that today was our last day with these amazing doctors who have been on this emotional journey with us for the past several months.  Our cheerleaders and hand holders, and I had to hold back the tears as we said good-bye and Thank you to our Doctor. They will never know how much I appreciated them. So from here on out we are with our OBGYN. We will have our next sonogram and initial meeting with our OBGYN on Friday September 14th where I will be 13 weeks.

So here's how I'm feeling this week:

This Weeks Stats:
Jelly Bean is as big as a: Medium Green Olive, about 1 inch long.

Nausea:
Still there. Just comes and goes, some days are worst that others. I did notice for the first time and of course the night before I had to be at work for training, jelly bean decided to make mommy nauseous at every attempt to lay down to sleep. Every time I laid down I immediately felt sick, would jump up to run to the bathroom, gag, dry heave, feel better, go lay down and repeat process several more times. It was as if baby knew this was the one day mommy had to be up early all summer and he/she was going to have some fun with me. It made me laugh because he/she is very much like his/her mother. I'm still getting nauseous in the car, so I got a prescription for Zofran from my doctor today so I am ready to make that hour commute to and from work on Monday.

Exhausted:
Still there. I did pretty good on my one day of work (Thursday) but came home and was fast asleep by 10pm. We shall see how this upcoming week goes. Going to sleep is no longer a problem excluding that night I mentioned above. I also got my pregnancy pillow this week so been playing with that trying to find what's comfortable for me.

Bathroom Runs:
The Same

Allergies:
Still here. Some days are worst that others but trying to only take 1 Claritin if I really need it.I did read that allergies are normal and do increase in pregnancy. Something about mucus increase, which really stinks since I had awful allergies before pregnancy so I probably should buy stock in Kleenex since I'll be giving them a lot of business.

Cravings:
Still sweets!! Any type of dessert. I have learned not to go Grocery shopping when pregnant and starving. I came home with lots of random snacks and a huge Red Velvet Cake slice. Still not feeling meat of any type. Anything Italian or cheesy is perfect

Thirsty:
Yup still just want tons of water. Working on getting a glass of milk, OJ/V8 Splash daily.

Belly Band:
Still using. Also doing the rubber band trick.

Weight:
I still have not gained any weight but Dave has noticed some changes. He claims I'm loosing weight in my hips and has seen me start gaining more in my upper stomach area. Which would make sense why on the scale I haven't gained anything.

Overall, all is absolutely perfect! So far we have received several predictions of what Jelly Bean may be...girl? boy? so far all guesses have been girl. I can't wait to find out if they are right or if this baby will prove everyone wrong by surprising us with a boy. For Dave and I, we just want healthy; other than that I'll either have a blast buying everything ruffles, lace, bows, sparkles, and frills or tons of cute polos, plaid, and overalls.

8 Weeks!!

Well on Friday I hit 8 weeks! Only 4 more weeks until I'm through the 1st Trimester. Praying! So here is how I'm feeling lately:

Nausea:
It comes and goes. I've been hit hard off and on and when it hits it's an all day adventure. I've seen that for the most part this happens when I'm the passenger in the car but on Saturday I was the driver. I drove close to my normal route to work, just about 15 minutes shorter since I only went to Arlington. My body was not agreeing with the drive. I luckily had some Ginger Altoids so popped one of those in and found that I don't like the taste of Ginger Altoids. So far Ginger Ale does the trick so reminder to self I need to take a few cans with me to work in a cooler seeing that I drive around daily to various school for my job. So this nausea in the car thing is going to just have to deal. Smells also get to me right now. I have noticed some days (not all) that I go into a grocery store I have to almost turn around and walk out or just get the most important item and get out before I get sick.

Exhausted:
As I've mentioned before I am still utterly exhausted. Still taking naps around 2pm daily.
I'm not having as much problems getting to sleep this week during both nap time and bed time. I have noticed 10pm is my limit. I need to be in bed by then and asleep no later than 11pm.

Bathroom Runs:
Still occuring and seem to have increased this week. I think I'm waking up 3-4 times right now but luckily fall back to sleep pretty quickly.

Allergies:
This week I got hit by some bad allergies. At first I thought I may have caught what Dave had last week (Bronchitis) or some form of a cold because throat was sore, I was stuffy, and just felt awful. The doctor told me I could take some Claritin which has helped tremendously and I'm finally down to just taking the Claritin once a day. Hopefully, will be off completely very soon.

Cravings:
All I want is anything sweet. This can range from ice cream, chocolate, brownies, cake, jelly beans, candy...you get the point. This is different for me because I don't typically eat sweets and normally a cartoon of ice cream can sit in our freezer for months, but not anymore. I also have found that this week meat is a HUGE aversion. I don't want to taste it, see it, smell it or touch it. The exception is Chorizo which I know many of you are like "That's meat Sarah", but I'm Hispanic and so Chorizo is not a meat. it's a breakfast taco necessity. I had chicken noodle soup the other day since I've been feeling crappy and with the first bite of the little pieces of chicken I was over it. I had to pull every single piece of chicken out before I could continue. I also have found I want anything with cheese. I'm also not into big meals, I snack a lot lately. I am completely content eating a bowl of Chex Cereal for dinner.

Thirsty:
I'm constantly thirsty! I'm not sure how much this is pregnancy and how much this is due to the allergies, but I have to be drinking water at all times. I also feel I go through glasses like crazy because I need a glass for my milk, a glass for OJ, a glass for water, and occasionally a glass for Ginger Ale, just within 1 day!

Belly band:
So every morning I wake up and weight myself and I have seen that I have gained 0 pounds! I've heard this is normal and I guess what doctors want right now, so yay me! However, even though I have gained Zero I have found there are only 2 pairs of jeans that I can still button and zip all the way without feeling I am about to burst. I don't fully grasp why I can't comfortable wear my jeans/capris since my weight has not increased, but am thankful for the Belly Band one of my girlfriends gifted me with.

Discomforts:
I have found myself scratching my belly more and my legs. I read this would happen and I'm trying to keep moisturized to avoid dry skin.  I've also noticed pain in my lower back, especially when I try to lay on my back. I'm doing a little better at trying to stay on my left side but still do find myself on my back when I wake up. Which mysteriously also hurts my chest area, I'm not fully understanding that pain. I'm hoping I can get a massage soon to help relieve this pain. Calling to the doctor today to get permission.

Overall though I must say I am doing good. I try to sit around with my feet up most of the day. Taking it as easy as I can. I've only got 1 more week of this because work starts back up on Monday.

Crazy Dreams

So over the past few weeks I have noticed my dreams are much more vivid. Some are crazy, some are silly, some bring up concerns and some just make me plain confused. People I haven't seen for years have appeared in my dreams, I'm pretty sure a good portion of my Facebook friends have appeared in at least one dream. Most of my dreams I am pregnant in. Last night I had 2 interesting dreams.

The first was my first ever labor dream and I woke up slightly panicked. The dream was about my water breaking late one night and Dave was at work (I'm sure the dream was much longer but I don't remember anything prior to that panic moment). So in my dream I'm trying to decide do I run next door and wake up my neighbor to take me to the hospital, do I call a friend and who? (The Vise's, Vanhoosers?). About this time Dave got home so I woke up and once he was done with his normal morning routine and came to say hi and do my sleepy chat time with him I immediately was like "what do we do if I go into labor and you are at work!?", I think I threw him off for a bit but he gave me a calm funny response that consisted that he's heard labor is long, he'd tell his sergeant he was leaving, and driving 100+ mph to return car to station, get his car and come pick me up. He's pretty sure he could do all that in approx 15 minutes. This answer was enough to please me and I went back to sleep.

The second dream was with a group of people whom I'm pretty sure I only knew 2 of the people. But the main part was we were eating lots of food and all types of food. and I had the best Mac-n-cheese ever, actually 2 different kinds a yellow and a white cheese type! I woke up right after I asked Dave to go get me more mac-n-cheese. Yup, dreaming of mac-n-cheese.

I'm enjoying all the dreams, they make me laugh for the most part. :)

San Antonio

For our summer vacation we went to visit family and friends in San Antonio. We had a blast and were so busy making our rounds. While there we saw both my mom and dads sides which was really nice because haven't seen most of them in over a year. I was also able to attend one of my cousins baby showers, which was nice because I got to see some of my extended family. I got to indulge in my Aunt Suzie's margaritas, virgin style of course. :) We also got to go visit old friends from high school: Brandy, Sarah, Albert, and Bridget. We were stuffed on homemade food all week; ranging from Grandpas Ribs, breakfast tacos, pancakes, sausage, homemade enchiladas, corn bread, homemade tortillas and much much more!! It was so nice but I don't think my tummy ever had time to get hungry. Thank you to my Grandparents and The Campos Family for letting us stay with you and feeding us this amazing food!

Family got to see Baby Moore's 4 pictures. It was nice to be able to show my grandparents this, since they won't see me again for 4 months. We discussed names and gender a lot with everyone. We've had 2 girl predictions so far. My grandmother shared that on her family side (which approx is 150-200 people) that most of the family has always had girls first; which is how she is coming up with her prediction. Then we went to the Campos's house on Monday night and Dee Dee also predicted a girl. No boy predictions as of yet.

It was so nice to get away and go visit my family. Every time we are there I'm reminded how much I miss being surrounded by each and every one of them. The love, support, excitement, encouragement was overwhelming and so welcomed. Not saying we don't have great family and friends in DFW, because we definitely do! But sometimes a girl just needs her grandparents, aunts, cousins, and the friends that have known her since middle and high school. I love you guys and thank you all for taking time to see us while we were in San Antonio and being excited about our Jelly Bean. Thanks for the prayers over my tummy, the soft loving touch to my belly, and the many hugs. For those that we missed, no worries, we we will return in December.

Jelly Bean

Last Friday our First Sonogram was scheduled. David had come home Thursday morning feeling sick so he had taken off Thursday night. We thought it was just a cold but since we were leaving town on Saturday he needed to make sure to go to the doctor on Friday, just in case. So he went on Friday morning to the doctor to be told he had Bronchitis and they HIGHLY advised he not go to the sonogram to avoid getting me and others sick. Which was a total bummer. My husband does not get sick, ever. Normally, if he does it's just a quick 24 hour bug, so of course he would be highly contagious the day we get to see/hear our baby. Not his fault but just our luck.

So the sonogram went very well! I tried to video record everything for Dave but of course I screwed that up. :( So we saw 1 baby...I made sure to ask several times that she was sure. We also heard the heartbeat, which to me sounded so fast but she said it was normal and sounded great. At this point the baby just looked like a blob, which she said was also normal. We have now lovingly named him/her "Jelly Bean". According to my doctor I am 7 weeks exactly as of the day of the sonogram, which according to websites makes Baby Moore the size of a blueberry. We were given 4 pictures of our little one! Babies first pictures!

We will have another sonogram in 2 weeks. We are so thankful that our little Jelly Bean is doing good and we continue to pray that the Lord allows us to continue on this journey.

Morning Sickness has Struck

These past 7 weeks I can count on one hand the number of times I have been nauseous. All have been in the afternoon and all but once was I the passenger in the car. Everyone told me I either was lucky or it was going to happen soon.

Well yesterday, Wednesday, started my week 8. This morning I woke up, got out of bed and it hit me. Brushing my teeth was a task. I have never been nauseous thus far in the morning. Luckily after about 30 minutes it passed with no getting sick because I had lunch plans with my old roommate from college that I didn't want to miss. I took a bottle water and saltines with me to munch on when needed. The rest of the afternoon I was pretty good until I reached the grocery store. I'm not sure if it was just my body saying it had had enough because I had been running around all day and I needed rest or if it was all the smells in the grocery store. But I quickly got what I needed and went straight home. I was nauseous for the next few hours. I attempted a nap and did get a quick one but mainly just laid there for a few hours slipping in and out of sleep. Luckily at the grocery store I stocked up on Ginger Ale so I immediately started drinking that, which helped.

So I officially consider this my first real round of "Morning Sickness". :)

We see baby heartbeat tomorrow!

Got Warm Milk??

So for the past week or so I have been getting very little sleep lately. I'm exhausted but as soon as I lay down, I'm tossing and turning and wide awake. It has been so frustrating. I can't get comfortable and when I am I still don't sleep. I have tried Benadryl (which use to knock me out immediately with just one pill) but now it's like I took candy, I'm wide awake. I have told my brother I think I have ADD of the mind because my mind is racing and really about nothing in particular. I bounce from topic to topic.

So I was talking to my mother last night and she recommended I make some "warm" milk. Initially this sounded disgusting and frankly still does. Now I know that's what Hot Chocolate is but that has chocolate in it and in my head it is supposed to be hot because it's called "Hot" chocolate. Milk is not called "Warm" milk. Her argument was that babies sleep after they get fed and their milk is warm. My argument "us adults drink it cold" but I assured her that I would try it but that I thought it was weird.

So last night there I was heating up a mug of milk. I laid down with my book next to hubby last night and started drinking. I immediately told Dave that it tasted "weird, not bad just weird". At first I felt like a cow, why a cow I'm not sure maybe because milk comes from them but really no idea it's just what came to my mind first. Then as I was getting to the bottom of my mug I felt like a kitten, as if I should be licking it out of my mug....now I did not do this (I'm pretty sure that would have gotten me some weird looks from my husband). Once done it was funny, because I felt like I needed a good burp. It made me laugh because I was like, " I feel like a baby, that I need to be burped now". Which my husband found hilarious and started to jokingly thump my back a few times. He's as silly as me sometimes. Love him!

Results:
I ended up still tossing and turning for about 30 minutes but then the rest is a blur because I was out. So I'll take 30 minutes over 1.5 hours.

Conclusion:
MOM WAS RIGHT! :)
