Christmas 2009

Well it's been a busy busy time of year for us. We were able to see both sides of families for Christmas this year which was very nice. Galindo Christmas: Dave and I went up to Norman, OK several days before Christmas and got to spend time with my family. We had a great time with tons of homemade cookies and tamales. I made my ehomemade Bailey's, which they all loved. Grandma and Grandpa, Sue and Andraya came up from San Antonio. It was nice to do our traditional Christmas morning tradition of breakfast tacos/tamales and then opening gifts from youngest to oldest so everyone gets to see everyone's gifts. We got some really awesome stuff! We played our normal game of Chicken Foot and I won!! :) It was sad to leave because I love being around my family, especially during the holidays because we have so many traditions that I hold dear to my hart. As a child our Christmas was packed with family time. All day events and I miss that! Plus being around them is just therapeutic for me...I know weird but it is. It was a very Merry Christmas!

Christmas Eve:
Well we were suppose to go to my cousin Dani's for dinner with her and her husband for Christmas Eve. Dave was going to get ready for work there and just go straight to work. It was so nice of them to invite us over for dinner so that we weren't alone on Christmas Eve. However...mother nature had a whole other plan. I woke up that morning and went to do some last minute shopping. I didn't even turn on the TV to watch the news like normal because I just wanted to hit the road. When I left the house there were snow flurries, which I thought was odd but didn't think twice about. I got done at my first store and headed to the next. As I got close to that shopping center the snow was picking up and the wind was blowing. I was getting pelted by snow and it seemed like nobody expected this because nobody was dressed for this weather. It was freezing and snowing pretty heavy. Nothing was sticking though. Once I got home..of course..I got my camera and started taking pictures! I documented through pictures the day of snow. It was my First White Christmas!!! However, throughout the day the weather was getting worst, the snow was sticking and the roads were getting bad and they were forecasting ice. So we had to cancel dinner because we would have been driving out to Dallas and Dave didn't like the idea of me driving alone since we would have to go in separate cars so he could go to work.

Moore Christmas:
On Christmas Day I woke up and it was just like any other day...which kinda was sad. But I made the most out of it because there was still snow. I made a mini snowman and took tons of pictures of the dogs in the snow. Well of Cooper..Chloe wanted nothing to do with the snow. Other than that I just watched TV. Once Dave got up we went to his Aunt's house for his Family Christmas. It was really nice to see everyone especially our niece and nephew because we rarely get to see them. They are getting so big! It was nice to have the entire family there because it has been several years since we've all been together due to schedules.

Overall the holidays were great and I was so glad to get to see both our families.

Been Busy

Well I haven't updated in awhile. So let's see what's been going on.

Thanksgiving
: Well we were so thankful to have my family (mom, dad, Alex, Derek) come in town for the holidays. Mom came in on Tuesday and the guys came in on Wednesday. Normal "Galindo" tradition is to have Thanksgiving Turkey for lunch up in Oklahoma but because David had to work this year my family thought that it would be best to push it back to dinner so that he could sleep AND they came to us. I have such an amazing family and am truly blessed. Thanks guys!! The food was amazing and everyone contributed something. I made some stuffing balls wrapped in bacon; which came out fantastic!! Then I made a pumpkin pie for dessert, which was also a hit! I love trying these new dishes because I love cooking for others.

ICE
: The week my family was here for Thanksgiving Alex, Derek, Mom and I all went to Grapevine on Friday to eat on Main Street and then we went to ICE at The Gaylord. It was so awesome! We felt like we were in Alaska with those big blue parkas and my feet were frozen by the end of it all...but truly a sight to see.

Fertility
: Well I don't have good news on this. Over the Thanksgiving holidays I had an ultrasound and blood work done on Wed morning. My LH level was increasing (Good) and it appeared that my follicles were increasing in size (Good) but they weren't were they both needed to be for the IUI, so they said to come back on Sunday. Well Sunday morning I went and LH level went drastically down and my follicles didn't get any bigger, thus still not ovulating. They asked that I come in that following Thursday but I had lost hope by this point. I hit a low and thank God for my amazing husband whom kept my head above it all. Well on Wednesday I was sent home from work with a very high fever and went straight to the doctor. I had strep...oh joy!! This meant no doctor for that last ultrasound/blood work on Thursday. So this round went nowhere. David and I have talked about it and we have decided that we are going to take a break. Emotionally I cannot do this again back to back especially over the holidays. I can honestly understand how woman can fall into depression throughout these processes. You try not to be negative, tell your body it's going to work, stay positive just to get the door slammed time and time again in your face. You shut yourself from others because even though you love their advise and greatly appreciate it; they all say what you already know and if they haven't been there they just don't know how hard it is. Then you knock yourself for thinking that way because you know they mean well. Then it's been very hard to go through all of this with not many of my close friends or family near me to lean on. This has probably been one of the hardest because even though David is such an amazing supportive husband there are times that you just need to talk to someone else. There were times I didn't want to worry him or stress him out more and I would have normally ran to my family or friends but they aren't all here. I know our Heavenly Father has a plan and when the time is right it will happen. I just have to continue to look up to Him and not down that dark path that continues to throw itself at me. I know there is a baby out there that God has picked specifically for David and I and I know that there is a reason he's waiting to bless us and I have to respect that and be patient. I am constantly praying that he bless me with patience and strength. I have an appointment in Jan with The FEM Center in Colleyville, TX to have a hormone test done. This center is not a fertility clinic, they actually deal with menopause but it has been shown that your hormones are what causes all this and if they can get the hormones in order they can control the menopause. Well for woman in my case because they know we're not going through menopause, but something is obviously wrong with our hormones then fixing the hormones can knock our bodies in order and allow someone to get pregnant. So we're going to wait and see what they have to say. Plus we're talking about taking the honeymoon that we never took. That makes me really excited! David and I want to thank everyone of you that have been praying for us and sending me encouraging posts, emails, voice mail. It means more to me than you will ever know. I love you all and wish I had more of you closer in location to me.

Christmas Decorations
: Well we put up our tree and decorations around the fireplace. Not much else has been done yet. The bushes outside are done but much more is needed. I look at our tree and it's smaller because it's the tree I got when I lived in my apartment in college and in an apartment it looked great but now in this house with the tall ceilings it just doesn't fit. However, we've been holding out on getting a big tree because my mother is passing down our "family" tree to me with some of our old family ornaments next year. I am so excited because putting up the Christmas tree with mom and Alex was such an awesome, fun, rememberable tradition and the ornaments are ornaments we've had since before I was born because many are from Germany when my parents lived there when they first got married. Alex and I have specific ornaments that each year we HAD to put on the tree. He had certain ones and I had certain ones and it's funny because we still gravitate towards "our" ornaments when we're home. Having "our" tree is something I'm looking forward to and excited to be able to share that same tradition with our family from the start. We finally got to light a fire and we got a new screen!

Fertility

Well as most of you know David and I have been trying to have a baby with little success. After our second round of fertility drugs didn't work my doctor said we could do a 3rd round and then see a specialist or just go see a specialist because I was not ovulating. So we made an appointment and they were really quick to get us scheduled that next week. So this past Tuesday we went in and met with the doctor. They did a sonogram and everything was fine. I had plenty of eggs, my uterus was healthy and a good size so everything was good for me as long as they can get me to ovulate. They ran various test on David and I and everything has come out great...I just don't ovulate. So they were going to put me back on Provera to start a period in order to start whatever process we decided on. This whole process with Provera takes about 2-3 weeks. They gave me the prescription on Tuesday, we filled it on Wednesday and I was going to start it on Thursday morning. Well woke up Thursday morning to a surprise and realized the Provera was not needed any longer. :) This was a GREAT thing but that meant we had to make a decision on what process VERY quickly because they had to see me on day 2 or 3 of my cycle, which meant Friday or Saturday. We thought we had 2-3 weeks to decide but now we had to make a decision within hours. Well I already had a Glucose (4 hour test) set up for Sat (Today) so that worked out great. The blood test came out fine they did another ultrasound and all looks well. I started taking the Clomid today and will take it for 5 days. They doubled the dose compared to the last round I did in hopes that this may help. Then next Saturday I go in for another ultrasound and they will give me whatever I need to test for ovulation. This will be done over the Thanksgiving break which works perfectly as well. I should be able to have the IUI procedure done that week so no worries about work. Once the test shows positive for ovulation I think we have a certain number of hours that we have to get in there for the IUI. This whole process hasn't been fully explained. We should know by the beginning of Dec if all this works. Please keep praying, we greatly appreciate it!!!

I will update everyone once more is known.

Busy busy

So we went to San Antonio last weekend for Tunisha and Gabe's baby shower. It just so happened that that same weekend my best friend's little girl was having her birthday party and my grandparents were celebrating their anniversary. The baby shower was great and Aunt Sarah went kinda crazy on the gifts. I think by the end of all my power shopping I had 2 bags full of stuff. :) We got to hang out with Tunisha and Gabe and T's mom which was so much fun because it's been way to long. Baby Molly kicked a few times for me. I cannot wait for the little one to be born. Then went to Peter Piper for Sarah's daughters birthday party. It's been a very long time since I've been to one of those places. Had fun and got to see her family. My grandparents anniversary party went very well also. Got to see all of my aunts, uncles, and cousins and have some amazing brisket. My uncles have started their own grilling team and dang is it good!!! And of course had margaritas with my mom's side of the family...The normal tradition when I come in town. It was so nice to have Dave there with me because he rarely is able to come and see my family due to his work schedule. It was long overdue.

This past weekend we had a girl's night with some of my old SFA Rugby Lil Sis's...my circle of girl friends from the college days. It was such a
great time. We had a lot of fun remembering the old crazy wild days and how our conversations have changed. We're all married, some of kids, one's getting married, 2 of us have been doing fertility treatments. It was just an awesome time and something I really did need. Even though these girls and I don't talk often and aren't as close as we were in the past there is still that bond there between us and it's nice to have them to talk to and vent with.

Today Dave and I went to World Market and got some new curtains and a new
coffee table. The end table is coming in on Wednesday. We love our new furniture and we're finding ourselves really pulled to World Market's furniture. Our living room is looking much better just with these simple little touches. As for the fertility treatments here is the latest update. They put me on Femara and in all honestly I think this is working much better. Still going through my crazy hormonal episodes but I am pretty sure that I ovulated this time. The blood test will confirm this but that will not be done for another week. We are praying that this does work. All in all things are great. I am excited to work on more things around the house now that I have weekends off and with the holiday coming up I am hoping to get some stuff done.

September

Alright so I have been really bad at keeping up with this thing lately. OK so this month has been very busy. I have started my new job with Grand Prairie ISD as their O&M Specialist. I am LOVING it!!!! I am so glad I made this decision because it is 10 times better than what I had and so much more stable. It is more hours a day than I was used to but surprisingly it hasn't really bothered me. My body is actually getting use to a normal sleep routine. My last day at Ann Taylor is this upcoming Sat and then I will actually have weekends again. I haven't had weekends free consistently in years. I am also looking forward to having the entire week of Thanksgiving off but yet no worries about how that will affect my pay for the month because I get paid the SAME EVERY month!!! :)

My Birthday was Sep 6th. I am now 27 years old. Don't feel any dif
ferent though. :) Had a great time! I ended up getting re-baptized at my church to reconfirm my faith. My reason was because I was baptized as a baby in the Catholic church but now I wanted to do it by my own choice. It was a great experience that I will forever remember it. That night my friends all got together at Carrabbas and had a great dinner. Mel made my grandmother's pudding cake. (YUM!!!). My wonderful husband got me a new camera, which I love!!!! It is a Canon. So far the dogs have been my latest victims. I have posted some pics of my babies.

We also found out this month that the Chlomid did not work. It didn't cause me to ovulate and did absolutely nothing. This was a HUGE blow to me. Just when I thought we were taking a few steps forward we got thrown several miles back. My doctor now wants to try another pill out to see if it works. I started the Provera a few days ago so will just have to wait for my cycle and the the new pill will be started. Please pray for us because we really need it. I'm highly frustrated and am starting to loose hope. I have such an amazing husband though. He has been my strength and rock lately.

Relief!

Been up to a lot lately. I GOT A JOB!!!!! :) So I've had two interviews for jobs in 2 school districts. I did not get the first job but I did get the second job!!! Within 30 minutes of my interview this past Monday they called and offered me the position! I was so excited! I am waiting to hear from HR now and hopefully they will have me start next week! I am now working for Grand Prairie ISD. They seem very very nice and I am looking forward to working with them all. Plus more stability for David and I! It's a huge weight lifted off my shoulders! Praise God!!! This past weekend I went to Orlando, FL for a MonaVie Conference. Let me just say this was such an amazing, informative, spiritual conference! I learned a lot more about the product but I also learned so much more. It's a very religious company and they offered several speakers that addressed marriage and forgiveness. The one that got me was the one on forgiveness. The speaker was an author who has written a book "The Bait of Satan" by John Bevere. I must say this is a book I feel ALL of us should read because it's about how we as people hold grudges and don't truly forgive when people wrong us. He uses scripture to help show you what God said we needed to do as Christians. We all are full of pride and allow that to get the best of us. All these negative feelings we feel are caused by the devil and this is his way to tear us down and pull us away from God. So many of us have allowed this to happen to our lives and don't even know it because we are convinced we were right and whomever wronged us is at fault. It's an amazing book and I started reading the book on the plane ride back to TX. I am highly impressed and have only read 2 chapters. I highly recommend you to go check this book out and read it. I have posted some pics of the conference and my team. The can of MonaVie is our new Energy Drink...All Natural energy! The two cars are the my dream cars...what you get when you get higher in the company. Heck yes!!!

Dave is doing great and staying busy with work. He is such a great daddy and handled the pups while I was gone. They are so very attached to
me so when I leave they usually give him hell. But they just refused to eat and were depressed but they didn't do anything bad...which is an improvement!!!! He is such a great husband! Being on these meds have really messed with me emotionally. I have been happy one second and about to rip his head off the next, but he handles it so well! :) I'm having hot flashes and occasionally will get VERY emotional. It's all wearing me out and I know it probably drives him nuts but he handles it well.

That about raps it all up for now. I will update again soon.

Moore Updates

Well it has been awhile since I wrote. So I'm gonna try to update as much as I can.

As for the doctor. I did hear back from them and they didn't formally diagnose me but they did state that my blood results were similar to those with PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome). This pretty much confirmed what we thought...that I do not ovulate. They put me on Provera which I took for 10 days. Now we just have to wait for my period (could take up to 2 weeks) and once that starts then I contact the doctor and she will call in my perscription for Chlomid. Then we go from there with whatever they tell us. I will keep you up to date.

As for the job. I did fill out the application and we are just waiting to hear from the lady in charge of hiring in order to set up an interview. She is waiting on some files from HR. Hopefully next week. School starts soon so the process will need to be done very soon. Please keep me in your prayers!

A few weeks ago we had our very good friends JD and Hollie in town to visit. It was really nice to see them because it had been probably a year since we saw each other last. We had a lot of fun with them. That weekend Dave found out that he had been given a week vacation the first week of August. So currently he is off of work until Tuesday!!! We had planned to possibly go do something small or visit family/friends in Houston and San Antonio, however 2 days after JD and Hollie left we had a rain storm go through our area and a leak started in our roof. Thus finances get to go towards that. What a joy!! (Growing up is so much fun!) Luckily I have a friend who's father does roofing so he came out the next day to help us. We have our insurance company looking into it and hopefully the issue can be resolved because the roof does need fixing and there is water damage. But all of this put that trip on hold. So now we are going to be headed up to see my parents in OK tomorrow and staying until Monday, since the trip is practically free. We are looking forward to it because Alex and D just moved home (got his own place) to Norman, so we will get to see them. Plus Dad and Dave are hitting the course with Dad's new clubs. It will be good to get away!

This past Sunday we went out with The Wittigs because their Uncle Rick and his wife where in town and I actually had off work. It was good seeing them. It has been since our engagement party since we've seen Uncle Rick. We grilled at the house and I attempted some spinach and artichoke dip for an appetizer..which to my surprise was a hit. Then they took us down to the lake for drinks. We walked out on the pier...it was a lot of fun amd very pretty. Pictures are below.

Doctor

Well since my last post things have been busy. I have had a doctor appointment once every week...just routine things. However, one of my appointments was with my OBGYN to discuss my lovely weird body. :) So the latest assumption is that I do not ovulate which thus makes it very hard to get pregnant. They ran several blood test to test my hormone levels. We should know the results to this by the end of this upcoming week. If what we are assuming is correct (Lets hope that it is!!) then they will start me on 2 different pills which will cause my body to go through the normal womanly thing and ovulation. We will try this for 3 months or so and if nothing works then more tests will be run. I am hoping that this will work because the longer it takes and the more periods I have then the Endometriosis will return which will cause the vicious circle we've already gone through with surgery and recovery, ect. I am really trying not to stress about this because I know I am young and we still have plenty of time but it's hard not to stress. I've been blessed that there are several people in my life right now that have had difficulty with pregnancy and have experienced the same frustrations I am having because we can talk to each other. They are my outlets and I thank each of you for offering to talk with me, especially if we do end up going through this whole process. You never know how hard it is to go through this until you are there because for so many they either A. Don't plan it and it just happens or B. get pregnant within the first month or so of planning. For those of us that go months/years trying and nothing happens or you learn you have either PCOS or like me you just don't ovulate so your chances can be even smaller, or whatever else may prevent you from getting pregnant...IT'S HARD!!! I know that I haven't been trying for all that long (6 mo) BUT I don't ovulate so trying 6 months to 1 year or more means nothing to my body because it's not doing what it's suppose to anyways. The longer we wait the more time we waste because it will not happen on it's own or it's going to be very very hard to do it on my own without meds. Trust me I would have loved to be able to do it the old fashion way and not have to be on a schedule, but you deal what you're handed. So I've been in and out of funks lately and trying to keep out more than in. I have said a lot of prayers and I know that God will provide in the right time and that HIS time is not always MY time. It is just hard though because I'm surrounded by pregnant friends/family, whom I am so excited for!!!! Don't get my wrong I want to hear all about your pregnancy and babies because hello I love litle ones and want to spoil them rotten and I love hearing about everything! It's just hard, so if I am in a funk or what not please know this is what's going on. But I promise to try to always be my cheerful self!! :)

Another thing that is going on is that I may have found a potential job!!! I do not know the details as of yet but am hoping that this upcoming week I will be able to contact the Coordinator and set up an interview. I ask for your prayers please because this would be exactly what I am looking for and exactly what we need for our family.

I will post an update when I find out more information about each of the above!

July 4th!

On July 4th our niece Charlotte was born. David's younger brother and his wife had their first little blessing. We were not able to go see her until Sunday. Below are some pics. The pics are kinda fuzzy because Charlotte was in NICU so we couldn't take any pictures with a flash. She was in NICU, not because she was early but because it was such a long labor. She got an infection and liquid in her lungs so they had to monitor her. The day we saw her the tubes on her face were gone but she still had a few on her body. Today (Monday) she was taken off all the tubes and is now with Beth in their own room. We are looking forward to seeing her when they go home so we can hold her and play with her.

Things here are going good. We're just busy with work and taking it easy. A few weeks ago we went to see my parents, while Alex was in town. It was good to see them all. We surprised Dad with his Birthday/Father's day gift. Some golf clubs....Irons. Dave picked them out, I have no idea. He loved them though. :) Dave and him will hit the course next time we're up there. Work is keeping Dave busy and I'm trying to keep myself busy with work.

Dave and I finally ate the top of our wedding cake this past week also. yea I know we're suppose to do that on our 1 year but who cares, we finally did it! :) lol And surprisingly it tasted very good. The cake was moist and the icing creamy.
