Friends
This past week has been Spring Break, but it hasn't really been a "Break". I've been working with students on off-campus lessons, working at Ann Taylor, and doing tastings with MonaVie. Dave has been busy with work and it has been VERY busy this week with everyone on Spring Break.
Our good friends Melissa and Cail came into town yesterday for another friends Baby Shower. They brought their beautiful daughter Rylie. I cleaned my house and attempted to make it as baby proof as possible, but Rylie showed me what more I have to do. :) The dogs weren't sure about her. Cooper has never been around toddlers before so he was highly confused on what she was. He wouldn't get to clos
e and kept barking at her. After about 30 minutes of this he warmed up to her. She LOVED him. She would go chasing at him and then runaway so he would chase her. We did have to monitor him to make sure he was gentle with her because he's not use to that. Chloe has been around little kids before and was very gentle with her; however, Rylie immediately took to me and was sitting in my lap. When she would get up Chloe would run and sit in my lap....can we say jealous. It was very funny. It was so nice to have a little one around. She was very talkative and all over the place. It was fun running around with her, playing peek-a-boo, and doing silly things because she is at the age where she copies what she sees. Today we went to the Baby shower and met up with all our close friends from SFA. All of us live all over the place and just live very busy lives and it seems like the only time we all get together is for baby showers. It was nice to see the kids there and how we've all entered a new phase in our lives. Being around Rylie just made me want to be a mom 10 times more. I had a blast with her and it tore at my heart when they left. She gave me an open mouth kiss which took me by surprise (not use to little kid kisses), she waved bye bye to me. As I was walking to my car she said, "Bye Bye Bawah" (or something like that). I melted, it was the cutest, sweetest thing.
