Aubrey is now 2 months!! She's growing up so fast and getting bigger by the minute! So here's what's going on this month.
Diet:
Her tummy is doing so much better! We still have fussy, gassy days but she's getting better at passing gas and Gripe Water has become her friend. She seems to be able to tolerate tomatoes and milk which has helped broaded my eating options. Beans and her do not get along so those are out for now. She still spits up but not at all what it was before. We go to the doctor on Tuesday for her 2 month check-up and shots so we will get her weight at that time but I can tell she is growing, my arms tell me daily. :) She has also increased how much she is eating and we are so proud of her progress. She now eats during the day every 4-5 hours and at night every 5-6 hours. She's averaging 4-6 ounces per feeding but has started to lean more towards the 6 ounces this past week and is averagine at least 20-24 ounces daily. I am also still pumping solely and doing great with that.
Outings:
We have started to venture out of the house this month. We did our first family outing for dinner to Chilis which went great! She slept the entire time. Since then we have ventured out a few more times. Aubrey and Mommy also ventured out for our first outing just the two of us last weekend when we met with two of my girlfriends and their baby girls. It was a nice and succesful trip. Then this past Wednesday the two of us headed to Grand Prairie to have lunch with my office and she got to meet all the people at work that had been praying for her all those months. They were completely in love and it was nice to be around all them again.
Work:
Dave has returned to work within the past week; which is an adjustment for both Aubrey and I. The first two nights were rough but we are falling into a system now. I go back on May 22 and I've got mixed emotions. I'm completely ready to go back and finish the year out with my amazing team but I also don't want to leave baby girl just yet. Luckily it will only be for 2.5 weeks then off with her for 2.5 months.
Fun Facts
- Aubrey smiles a lot now at Dave and I. She get's a huge smile when we talk to her or make funny noises at her. You shows excitement when we pay attention to her.
- She is starting to recognize our voices in comparison to strangers and will look for us
- She loves looking at her owl mobile and just talks away at them.
- She has started babbling at us or just to space. Developing her voice.
- She is very aware of her environment
- She likes looking at light
- She brings hands to midline to her bottle, to our hands, or her own hands.
- She loves to eat and will get mad (vocal scream) when we either don't get her bottle ready quick enough or pull her bottle away to burp or. She's like a switch; be screaming one second but as soon as nipple is put against lips she attacks it and all is good in the world.
- She is grasping my hair now if it is within her space, especially when I burp her.
- She has gone back to sleeping at night in her crib.
- She does not like tummy time, but will continue to work on this with her.
- She turns her head to noises.
- We are still trying to decide her eye color but leaning towards Green. Yay!!
