Anniversary!

Well Dave and I are now back from our wonderful trip to The Gaylord over our 1 year anniversary. It was much needed and SOOOOOO relaxing. When we got there the parking garage was empty (always a good sign) so we got front row parking. Then we went to check-in and were surprised that we had a suite instead of a regular room like we were expecting. (Thanks Jeremy!) So we got into the suite and it was amazing! We had a long balcony, and the view was priceless. Above is the view and Below is our room.

Sunday night we went to eat at the Old Hickory Steakhouse. It w
as very yummy and so romantic. They gave us a free Creme Brulee for dessert with Happy Anniversary written in chocolate on the rim of the plate. It was so pretty. Then we went to the margarita bar and had some drinks before heading back up to our room for champagne.

We got lots of free desserts throughout the weekend. We ate at most of the restaurants that were there. It was so nice because the entire time we were there it felt like we had the whole resort to ourselves. We rarely saw more than 30 people out and about when we were. We also got to go to the Spa there at the hotel. David got a mud-pedi (completely a guy thing) and I got a full body massage. It was so nice.

We were the only ones there it seemed, which made it even more romantic for us and so very peaceful. Monday night we went to the Sports Bar where they have a huge screen that plays every sport that could possibly be playing up on this massive screen. They had th
ese really comfy reclining chairs that we both thought we were going to fall out of. That night I surprised Dave with a rose petal turndown service in our room. It was so nice and the staff were wonderful. It didn't even feel like we were still in DFW.

We missed our babies but it was nice having some peace and quiet time. Of course they knew something was up and Sunday raised havoc at our house before we left and then again when my girlfriend showed up to puppysit. It was nice to come home to our own bed but this was a well deserved romantic get-a-way.
